Platforms like Zomato have become trusted food delivery sources in our busy lifestyles, offering convenience and a wide variety of choices at our fingertips. However, there have been increasing instances of mix-ups from their end. Recently, a customer who ordered a vegetarian meal was dismayed to find chicken pieces in her dish. She took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to open up about this matter.
Zomato customer took to X and shared how she received Chicken in a Vegetarian Meal
A recent incident involving Zomato has stirred up concerns among customers about the platform’s reliability in delivering accurate orders. A user named Himanshi took to X (formerly Twitter) to express her disappointment after she ordered a vegetarian meal from Zomato and received a dish containing chicken instead.

She had ordered Palak Paneer Soya Matar and Millet Pulao from Eatfit, but to her surprise, she was served Chicken Palak. In her post, Himanshi emphasized that delivering chicken during Saawan, a sacred month for many Hindus when they avoid eating meat, was particularly unacceptable, especially when she had clearly selected a vegetarian option.
Her post read as we quote,

“Have ordered the Palak Paneer soya matar and millet Pulao thru Zomato from Eatfit. Instead of Palak Paneer they have served chicken Palak. Delivering Chicken in Saawan is not acceptable when I have selected only vegetarian food.”

Here is how netizens reacted
Zomato is shameless. They will deliver wrong orders. Then after wasting users time offer 50-100rs refund. After escalation and more time waste they will give 75-100% refund. They won’t even take any actions. Really irresponsible company

Being from a family who runs a vegetarian chain of restaurants, I can say to all vegetarian folks that it is not possible to keep veg and non-veg food separated in Indian cooking setup. There are so many touch points that it is not possible at all to keep them separated.

Better order from a traditional veg restaurant. Anyways big brands serve you frozen food, which they just keep on thawing and microwave…Just go and visit these dark kitchen once and see numbers of fridge and microwaves they deploy…You will not order again
