Woman Without A Ticket Refuses To Vacate Her Seat

Lately, overcrowding on trains has been a major issue and several passengers are complaining about the poor condition of Indian Railways. The train passages filled with ticketless passengers have created havoc on social media. Netizens have joined in the chaos and have started sharing their grievances too. Recently, a ticketless woman on a train refused to vacate a seat that she forcefully occupied. The troubling incident reached another level when she refused to vacate the seat.

The adamant behaviour of the woman refusing to vacate a reserved seat that wasn’t hers created an uproar on social media as the video in which the incident was caught went viral. She could be seen engaging in a heated argument with some co-passengers who repeatedly asked her to leave the reserved seat.

The woman was caught talking in a very rude tone, at first she said,

Meri seat nahi hai (It is not my seat)

Then she added,

“Aap TTE (Traveling Ticket Examiner) ko bulaiyye. TTE aayega, tab baat karenge (Call the TTE. I will speak to him)”

She was constantly refusing to get up and leave the seat to the person it belonged to. The man who was recording the video asked her to vacate the seat and wait near it. She even claimed to be a Railways employee and said she felt “entitled” to the seat.

She maintained her rude demeanor and continued,

“Main sunnewaali nahi hoon. Main baithi hoon, yahin baithungi. Khade raho, bolte raho. Mujhe koi farq nahi padhta. Kardo complain (I am not going to listen. I will sit here. You can keep standing there, keep on talking. I don’t care. Go ahead and complain).”

The X user Shonee Kapoor shared the video clip on the microblogging site on Friday. The user wrote,

The lady is occupying a reserved seat without a ticket.
Refused to get up, arguing with everybody around.

The viral video prompted a response from the Indian Railways

Reacting to the clip, the official account for support to passengers, Railway Seva, requested details for further investigation. Railway Seva wrote,

“We request you to please share the journey details (PNR/UTS No.) and Mobile No. with us preferably via DM. You may also raise your concern directly on http://railmadad.indianrailways.gov.in or dial 139 for speedy redressal”
