Flight attendant’s Casual Response After A Woman Finds A Worm In A Sandwich Served On IndiGo

To have bad experiences as you travel via well-known airlines is not a usual thing. However, that does not mean one can never experience so. Recently, a dietician named Khushboo Gupta traveled via IndiGo airline and found a live worm in her sandwich. Sounds nauseating? Indeed it sounds more than just nauseating. The dietician took to her Instagram handle to open up about the whole incident and the apparent ‘casual’ response by the flight attendant.

Dietician Khushboo Gupta recently shared a disturbing experience she encountered during a flight with Indigo, describing it as her “worst.” Gupta, based in Delhi, recounted the incident of finding a live worm in her vegetarian sandwich on a flight from Delhi to Mumbai on December 29. Despite having paid for the meal, she was shocked to discover the unwelcome addition after taking a bite.

Gupta took to Instagram to express her discontent, posting a video of the unsettling incident and criticizing Indigo for the declining quality of both food and service. In her social media post, Gupta emphasized her disappointment with the airline, citing the incident as indicative of a broader issue regarding the standards maintained by low-cost carriers like Indigo.

Adding to the distressing experience, Khushboo Gupta highlighted a very worrying response from the flight attendant after reporting the live worm incident. She mentioned in her elaborate caption that her request to inform fellow passengers about the incident so they could make an informed choice regarding their meals was met with a “casual” response. According to Gupta, the flight attendant simply assured her,

“I will replace it with something else,”

Without acknowledging the severity of the situation.

The flight attendant did not take immediate action to address the broader issue or alert other passengers about the incident. Instead, the attendant promised to bring the matter to the attention of the relevant department later. Subsequently, the flight attendant returned with an alternative food item for Gupta. It would be a sheer understatement to say that she felt great dissatisfaction with both the initial incident and the handling of it by the airline’s staff.

Gupta concluded her post by writing as we quote,

“I brought this issue under consideration to Create awareness … I don’t need any
Compensation or Refund ….
Just one assurance that Passenger Health & Safety should be your Top most Priority ….”

IndiGo responded to the incident

Indigo Airlines responded to the reported incident, acknowledging awareness of the problem and expressing their commitment to addressing it. The airline said in their statement as we quote,

“We are aware of a concern raised by one of our customers regarding their experience on flight 6E 6107 from Delhi to Mumbai. We want to emphasize our unwavering commitment to maintain the highest standards of food and beverage service on board.”

IndiGo further added,

“Upon investigation, our crew had immediately ceased the service of the specific sandwich in question. The matter is currently under thorough examination, and we are working closely with our caterer to ensure appropriate corrective measures are taken. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused to the passenger.”
