A similar incident occurred recently when a man named Shonee Kapoor shared a screenshot of a woman’s profile from a marriage-related website. The lady is a 33-year-old psychologist with an annual salary of between Rs 5 lakh and Rs 7.5 lakh. In her profile, she clarified what kinds of things she preferred—she was not “traditional” or “family-oriented.” Additionally, she did not cook, would not want children, and would not move for marriage.

However, Shonee quickly dismissed her as someone searching for a “retirement plan” rather than a real marriage. It disregards her right to express her views. This sparked a wave of backlash, particularly from men, who took it upon themselves to belittle and criticize the woman for her choices. She was criticized for her lack of cooking skills, desire for children, and unwillingness to move for her spouse.
