Company Responds After Woman Claims To Find ‘Dead Mouse’ In Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup

The convenience and accessibility of packaged goods have increased dramatically in the modern era. It changed how people used and bought common products. Of these, Hershey’s chocolate syrup stands out as a legendary product that is extensively founded in many families’ cooking customs.

With syrup, consumers can now quickly and simply add chocolate taste to a range of foods and drinks without having to go through the time-consuming process of creating their own syrup. However, notwithstanding the manifold advantages of packaged goods, there are several difficulties in the manufacturing process.

Among them, product mishaps are the worst. They not only turn anyone’s normal day into a nightmare but also tarnish the image of the company. Something similar recently happened with Hershey’s chocolate syrup. It all happened when a woman recently made a claim on social media that she had discovered a dead mouse in a bottle of Hershey’s chocolate syrup. Needless to say, the post infuriated many people. Due to this, the Hershey Company reacted swiftly to the incident.

A dead mouse was found in Hershey’s chocolate syrup

Recently, a woman became shocked after her Zepto order contained Hershey’s chocolate syrup. Her order apparently contained a dead mouse.

Prami Sridhar posted about the unnerving encounter on Instagram and cautioned followers to exercise caution when buying food. She first noticed what looked to be hair strands when she put some syrup into a spoon in the video. However, upon closer examination, she found a dead mouse when she unsealed the top and poured the syrup into a cup. After washing it, a family member verified that the rodent was there.

The post’s video demonstrates how the dead mouse falls out of the bottle when it is emptied into a disposable cup.To verify the finding, one may also be seen cleaning the dead mouse with a wooden spoon while submerged in water.

Along with the video, a woman wrote,

“Shocking discovery in my zepto Oder!! This is kind notice to everyone to open your eyes… We oderd Hershey s’chocolate syrup from zepto ,to eat with brownie cakes,we started with pouring with cakes .caughted small hair continuously.decided to open .the opening was sealed and intact .we opened and pored in disposable glass a thick and hard consistency of death rat dropped down.by washing in running water for reconformation .its a death rat…”

The woman also said that she got no response from the company, despite the fact that she tried to register the complaint multiple times. She wrote,

“We tried to register complain .but there is no response,3 members where tasted that syrup 2 girls have asymptomatic.one girl have fainted yesterday and got to hospital nearby.and again she was refred to another hospital for general medicine.with grace she was aldright now.and the investigation quite normal…..so guys please aware of what your eating and odering . Please do check while giving to kids…..”

The woman also said that the incident was unacceptable and the company should address this issue as soon as possible. She wrote,

“This is extremely concerning and unacceptable. We worried about the health risks and the lack of quality control.” please address this issue immediately. I demand a full investigation and assurance that this will not happen again.”

How did Hershey’s respond to the viral video?

Meanwhile, the company reached out to the customer directly to address her concerns and resolve the issue. In the comment section of the videos, Hershey’s wrote,

”Hi there, we are very sorry to see this. Please send us the UPC and manufacturing code from the bottle to [email protected] with the reference number 11082163 so one of our team members can assist you!”

How did people react to the video?

Meanwhile, many people were appalled by the footage and called for an investigation. Most stated that the situation was quite serious, while others called it a grave error.
