We’re midway into 2022, and Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Films maintains on being the year’s highest Bollywood movie. The low-budget picture, which was published in March, outperformed expectations at the box office, grossing Rs 252.90 crore in India. Anees Bazmee’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, featuring Kartik Aaryan, is the second top-grossing Bollywood movie of the year.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 has so far grossed Rs 163.15 crore and is anticipated to top Rs 175 crore by the conclusion of its duration. The Kashmir Files became the buzz of the neighborhood when it came out earlier this year.

The spectators were split on Vivek Agnihotri’s movie. While some people enjoyed the film, others believed it was political in nature. Naseeruddin Shah, a famous Bollywood performer, recently discussed The Kashmir Files as part of a discussion regarding actors and directors partaking in patriotic initiatives.

Whereas The Kashmir Files helps to dominate controversy and condemnation, it currently leads the critical and commercial contest by a significant margin. Naseeruddin Shah, a prominent actor, reportedly commented to the success of the movie by calling it an “almost fictionalized” movie.

Naseeruddin Shah On The Kashmir Files

Shah was questioned about the spectacular triumph of The Kashmir Files and celebrities like Akshay Kumar producing movies like Samrat Prithviraj in an appearance with NDTV, as reported by Indian Express.

He was quoted saying,

“They want to be on the winning side…..(The Kashmir Files)an almost fictionalized version of the suffering of Kashmiri Hindus…. the government is promoting it.”

Thanks to the effectiveness of movies like The Kashmir Files, Shah predicts an increase in the amount of “pseudo-patriotic films” in India.

Vivek Agnihotri responded to Naseeruddin Shah’s comments

Kashmir Files director responded by sharing a tape from an encounter in which the performer discusses the ramifications of extermination and claims that speaking about that “you get a slap on the wrist.”

Agnihotri responded about the clip, saying,

“I agree with this. You are indeed abused and penalized for talking about Kashmiri Hindu Genocide in your own country.”

The Kashmir Files is the second instalment in Vivek Agnihotri’s war drama series. The Tashkent Files was the first movie, and it featured Naseeruddin Shah in a major role.

Naseeruddin Shah was also questioned well about the improptu reticence of Bollywood’s top actors, including Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Aamir Khan, during the conversation. And he went on to blame the drug case which included SRK’s son, Aryan in a modest way and added,

“I cannot speak for them. I am not in the position they are in. I feel they think they would be risking too much. But then, I don’t know how they explain to their own conscience about it. But I think they are in a position where they have too much to lose.”
