vivek agnihotri on brahmastra 300 crore

Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri has been very candid with his words as he said he does not believe in the “dumb race” of the Bollywood box office. Vivek Agnihotri reacts as Brahmastra beat The Kashmir Files

Vivek Agnihotri took to Twitter on Monday and shared several screenshots that reportedly said Brahmastra beats The Kashmir Files and becomes the number one Hindi film of 2022’. The filmmaker laughed at those reports by saying and we quote,

“Hahahaha. I don’t know how did they beat #TheKashmirFiles…with sticks, rods, hockey… or AK47 or stones…. Or with paid PR and influencers? Let Bollywood films compete with each other. Leave us alone. I am not in that dumb race. Thanks. #NotBollywood.”

Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir File was nothing but a surprise blockbuster of the year. Nobody anticipated that a movie that was mounted on such a small budget and with such a controversial theme would come out to be such a big hit. However, it did.

The Kashmir Files received a lot of love not just from fans but also from various political associates.

A movie that was based on the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the Valley during the early phase of the armed insurgency was loved almost by everyone. Several states came out for the movie’s support by declaring it tax-free. Haryana, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, and Goa are to name a few.

Narottam Mishra, the Home Minister of Madhya Pradesh came out for the movie’s support by declaring that policemen would be given special leave to watch the film. On the other hand, Basanagouda Patil Yatnal, BJP MLA in Karnataka funded one show per day for a week so that people can watch it free of cost.

Meanwhile, if we come back to the box office reports of Brahmastra, actor Ranbir Kapoor says that

“Brahmastra is unique being where the budget is not just for one film but for the whole trilogy.”

He further added while talking to Dainik Bhaskar that,

“The assets we have made for this film, be it fire or any other superpower, it will be divided into three films. So the figures (for this film) that are floating around are wrong. The film doesn’t follow the same economics as other movies in the industry. This is a new beast.”
