UP Woman Loses To Landlord After Putting Herself At Bet In A Ludo Game

You must be aware of the incident in Mahabharata where Yudhishthir bets on Draupadi in the Game of Dice and loses her. Well, it seems that history repeats itself but with a twist as a woman in Uttar Pradesh’s Pratapgarh put herself at stake while playing Ludo and lost to her landlord. This woman from UP named Renu is addicted to the game of Ludo and she used the money sent by her husband to bet.

Woman bets herself in game of Ludo after running out of money

Renu husband works in Jaipur, Rajasthan and he used to send money to her on a regular basis. She used to play Ludo with her landlord frequently. The incident was reported from the Devkali locality in Nagar Kotwali.

In their last game, both of them were placing bets while playing the game of Ludo, when the woman lost all her money. With no other option left she went on to put herself at stake without thinking of the consequences. Ultimately she lost herself to the landlord along with the game.

After this incident, she informed her husband about the same who came to Pratapgarh to lodge a police complaint against the landlord.

In the police complaint, the husband reportedly stated,

“My wife lost in Ludo and left with the opponent. Please bring my wife back.”

Her husband also narrated the incident on a social media post that went viral. He stated that he used to live with his wife Renu in a rented house in Devkali. Renu’s husband moved to Jaipur six months ago to work and he used to send money to his wife which was used in betting with the landlord. The mother of two was so desperate to win that she crossed all barriers and put herself at risk.

So, what happened after she lost the bet to the landlord?

The woman from UP is now living with the landlord as stated by her husband. Her husband said,

“I tried to make her leave him, but she is not ready”

Subodh Gautam, a police officer reported that they are trying to find the man and get in touch with him to start an investigation on the matter. He said,

“We are trying to get in touch with the man and will start an investigation as soon as we contact him.”

The incident has caused a lot of commotion in the area of their residence along with the internet.

It is unclear why the woman is still staying with her landlord even after they made a police complaint against him.

There have been many such incidents involving the game of Ludo in UP itself. With the growing trend of online games, there are a lot of risks involved which shouldn’t be overlooked.

Losing sanity for the sake of winning a game cannot be justified. Betting oneself over a game of Ludo sure seems suspicious and foolish.
