We live in a world that is full of convenience. Now that one feels like not cooking at home and eating out but again does not feel like going out they can easily order some food for themselves. All thanks to applications like Swiggy and Zomato.

With various restaurants already linked with such applications eating at home has been the most hassle-free job ever. However, is their service always prompt and non-contaminated? Not really. This recent incident of a man receiving the weirdest Christmas surprise is a testament to it.

Man found medicine in food ordered from Mumbai’s famous Leopold Cafe, shares picture

Leopold Cafe is one of the most well-renowned cafes in Mumbai. The place is so popular that back in 2008 it was one of the first places that was targeted by terrorists during the infamous Mumbai attack. Situated in Mumbai’s Colaba a plethora of people visit or order food from the cafe. However, it seems like the quality for which the cafe was popularly renowned for, has been downgraded.

Recently, a man named Ujwal Puri ordered chicken in oyster sauce from the cafe via Swiggy. However, the moment he sat to eat his order he realized that the dish was actually contaminated. How? Well, it contained a small strip of medicine. Without further ado, the man took to X (formerly known as Twitter) in order to share the picture of the food ordered and even a video as proof.

While tagging Swiggy, the man wrote as we quote,

“My Mumbai Christmas Surprise ordered food from Swiggy from Leopold Colaba got this half cooked medicine in my food.”

Swiggy replied to the post, “We have got…”

Swiggy responded to the man’s complaint, saying they would connect with him on X’s direct messages (DMs). Swiggy responded to Puri’s post on X and said,

“We have got your DM, see you there.”

Furthermore, a representative from the online food delivery platform also added,

“We expect better from our restaurant partners, Ujwal. Do allow us a moment while we look into this.”

They must have come to a certain conclusion because that is why the post now seems to have been deleted. However, that does not mean that the netizens did not take to the comment section in order to showcase their anger.

While many attacked Swiggy which is not exactly wrong what is feel is that the restaurant should be held more accountable because that is where the food was actually made and should have been inspected before giving it to the food delivery agent.
