Mumbai Police Responds After Swiggy Delivery Boy Steals Woman’s Mobile Phone

Unfortunately, this nightmare became a reality for a woman in Mumbai’s Malad area, whose phone was allegedly taken by a Swiggy delivery boy.

The woman, identified as Aparna Vinayan on Twitter, shared CCTV footage that allegedly showed the delivery executive, named Jayram Yegde, picking up her phone from a shoe rack after delivering an order at another apartment.

She described this whole incident on Twitter alleging that it occurred at around 6:45 pm on February 14 at the Ashok Enclave apartment in Malad West. In a now-deleted tweet, she wrote,

“@SwiggyCares @Swiggy Last night around 6.45 pm a Swiggy delivery person named Jayram Yegde had come to Ashok Enclave apartment at Malad West, Mumbai for the delivery. While returning he stole my phone. Please see the CCTV Footage video captured.”

Soon the incident becomes the talk of the town with many expressing their reactions to it.

While some Twitter users expressed sympathy towards the woman, others criticized her for being “careless” and leaving her phone unattended

Several users argued that the delivery executive was not stealing, but rather taking an unattended device.

However, after the posting, Mumbai Police reacted to the tweet and advised the woman to report the matter to her local police station for necessary action.

Swiggy’s official support handle also responded promptly, requesting order details to resolve the issue. They later updated that the woman would be assisted over personal chat. Swiggy tweeted,
