Sushmita Sen Replies To Hoarding About “Child Adoption Without Marriage” Like A Queen

For her unusual life choices, Sushmita Sen has been an inspiration to many women. The proud single mother of two girls was never afraid to speak her thoughts and frequently defy society standards. The former Miss Universe is shattering the internet yet again with her response to a hoarding about single mothers breaking the taboo of child adoption.

Definitely, Sushmita Sen is an actress who sets the bar high. Renee and Alisah, the actress’s gorgeous kids, are her only children. If you look at her Instagram feed, you’ll notice that she adores her daughters and treats them like princesses. Sushmita, who has inspired many with her personal and professional decisions, chose to respond to a hoarding she noticed circulating in Delhi and Mumbai.

Her Instagram account is full of pictures of her two kids, Renee and Alisah. Sushmita adopted her first daughter Renee when she was 24 years old, and her second daughter Alisah in 2010.

Sen, who isn’t shy about using social media, recently uploaded a photo of hoarding in Mumbai and Delhi, asking #WhyTheBais ahead of International Women’s Day. Hoarding is part of a public awareness campaign regarding social taboos and boas.

The hoarding, which was intended to raise awareness about prejudice, read: “Bina shaadi ke child adoption kasie kar sakti ho?” with “Why the bias” written in its subtext.

Sushmita has always encouraged millions with her deeds and words. Sushmita once attended an event at the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), Hyderabad where she said that the decision to adopt was not an act of charity but also a way of protecting herself. Speaking about the same, She said:

“In the natural birth, the mother and the child connect through the umbilical cord but in adoption, the mother and the child are connected by this higher power, a connection that you cannot cut off. I have had the privilege of experiencing it twice. To become a mother who has given birth from the heart. I have not missed a day of feeling the joy of motherhood.”

To raise her daughters with undivided attention and proper guidance, Sushmita took a break from her acting career. She once said in an interview,

“I asked myself, do I really want to do this. With a baby at home and my companies, the I AM Foundation, I have a lot more that needs my attention right now. It’s time to focus on them.”

Sen noted that she had come across the same topic multiple times before she opted to stop listening, endorsing the important issue presented.

Sushmita, a single mother who adopted two children, shared a snapshot of the hoarding and responded with the caption:

Sushmita’s message drew the attention of her followers, who complimented her for her daring decision.

In a recent interview, the actor, who made a comeback with Aarya and received the Critic’s Choice Award for 2021, confessed that she remained away from Bollywood for over 10 years since she wasn’t offered the kinds of parts she wanted to play. Dulha Mil Gaya, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Fardeen Khan, was Sushmita’s last film before her break.

She also said that her incapacity and aversion to networking caused her to miss out on possibilities. The second season of Aarya premiered in December 2021, and the third season is now under production.

Sushmita and her boyfriend Rohman Shawl split up a few months ago. She posted a snapshot of the two on Instagram and noted in the caption:
