Suryakumar Yadav Humble Response To Virat Kohli’s Tweet Praising His Batting

After being on fire in the recent ICC Men’s T20I World Cup, Suryakumar Yadav maintained his perfect streak of performances by scoring the second T20I century of his career in the second T20 International between India and New Zealand at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui.

With an unbeaten inning of 111 in only 51 balls, Suryakumar helped India post a massive total of 191 after New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson won the toss and decided to bowl first.

Since then, Indian middle-order batsman Suryakumar Yadav, the number one T20 batsman in the world as per the ICC rankings, has garnered plaudits for his outstanding performance from people all over the world.

However, one praise that drew everyone’s attention was the iconic Indian batsman Virat Kohli’s words for SKY, in which he described the 32-year-old as the best in the world and claimed that he plays “video game innings.”

Kohli is now on holiday with his family after being rested for the New Zealand trip. However, it doesn’t mean that he doesn’t see the news.

Taking to Twitter, Virat wrote,

Suryakumar Yadav reacted to Virat Kohli’s tweet during the post-game press conference

SKY replied to Kohli’s words and said that he views them as huge praise and that comments like this keep him inspired to keep playing this way. During the news conference, reacting to the videogame reference, SKY said:

“Usko toh main ek compliment k tarah lunga aur try karunga ki aur acha kaise kar sakun”

It loosely means that he’ll take it as a compliment and try to do the same consistently.

He also discussed his relationship with Kohli and their many partnerships over the previous several months and added how it feels to play with him. He said,

“Abhi recently humne kuch games khele hain saath mein, bahut achi partnership ki hain. Toh bahut maja aata hain mujhe unke saath batting karne k liye. Ek cheez hain bhagna bahut padhta hain, kyunki itne super fit hain woh.”

It means that he stated that they had played together, formed partnerships and that he genuinely enjoyed batting with him. However, he noted that Kohli was “super fit,” so he needed to run a lot.

He added,

“But at the same time humlog jab andar hote hain, toh humlog game k barein mein jyada discuss nahi karte hain. Ek dusre ko respect karte hain, pata hain sabko apne game k bare mein, kaun kaisa khel raha hain. Toh woh kuch jyada bolte nahi hain, main bhi jyada kuch bolta nahi huun. Bus main ek hi cheez bolta huun unko ‘ki aap ek side se khelte rahiye, toh phir main ek side apna batting karta rahunga’”

It means that he mentioned that they don’t really talk about their games when they bat together since they respect each other and are aware of his playing style.

With his incredible performance, Suryakumar became the first Indian and only player in Twenty20 cricket history to reach 1,000 runs in a calendar year.
