Sudha Murthy _ President of India

One of India’s most well-known figures is Sudha Murty, the head of the Infosys Foundation. She is the epitome of modest life and exceptional ideals. Despite being a famous author, entrepreneur, philanthropist and engineer, she is also a proud homemaker and humble wife of the co-founder of Infosys, N. R. Narayana Murthy.

Her husband’s and her own careers were greatly influenced by the strong and uncompromising attitude she possessed. For her humanitarian efforts, Murty received the Padma Shri, the fourth-highest civilian honour in India, from the Indian government in 2006.

Because of her utter confidence in humility and knowledge—the two qualities that help a man grow in life—she has always had a life philosophy that places little emphasis on materialistic ideas and goods.

She has excelled as a computer programmer and won gold medals since the start of her higher studies. In addition to touching many people’s emotions, her exceptional storytelling in English and Kannada earned her the R.K. Narayan Honour for literature in 2006 and the Padma Shri award.

She preferred to wear a basic traditional Indian style and always placed an emphasis on reading and studying rather than chasing after worldly cravings for luxury clothing and pricey beauty treatments.

In short, if she was made a prime minister or a presidential candidate in future, she would undoubtedly be supported by all sides.

But interestingly Sudha Murty has different thoughts on this idea which was proved by her recent interaction with kids in Bengaluru. So, let’s find out what she said:

Regarding dropping out of the race for president in the next elections, author Sudha Murty gave her response.

According to Deccan Herald, when a member of the crowd questioned her about the rumoured presidential withdrawal as she was speaking with schoolchildren and their parents at Bengaluru’s Sapna Book House, the author responded,

“What race? My presence in it only existed on WhatsApp.”

She added,

“Please find Kannadiga representation elsewhere, this is not my race to run.”

Later on, she also discussed how her native Kannada and emotions are connected, saying,

“My mind automatically switches to Kannada when there is feeling involved.”

Murty, a published author who has authored novels for both children and adults in Kannada and English, remarked,

“I essentially think in Kannada and then write in any other language.”

Emphasized the value of cultural identity, she told Deccan Herald,

“Staying true to one’s culture is like a tree trying to weather a storm: if the roots are strong, the tree will be fine, but if they aren’t, there is no point trying to save it anyway.”

It is important to note that the BJP has selected former Jharkhand Governor Droupadi Murmu as their contender, since President Ram Nath Kovind’s term ends on July 24. If Murmu wins the election, she would be the first woman from a tribal community to serve as president of the Republic of India. On the other hand, Yashwant Sinha has been selected as the unified candidate of the opposition.

It will be interesting to see who won this election but Sudha has definitely stolen the headlines for some times for her down-to-earth reaction to her alleged candidacy.
