The love story of Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palaash Muchhal had been grabbing eyeballs, for all the wrong reasons. Once the news of their wedding surfaced, fans from both the cricket and music worlds were super excited about the big day. However, much to everyone’s shock, the celebratory mood did not last long. Smriti’s father reportedly suffered a heart attack, which forced them to call off the wedding.
Soon enough, social media was abuzz with speculations. In no time, some stated that the engagement got delayed due to family problems, whereas others claimed the wedding was called off. Rumors gained momentum when cheating allegations against Palaash also surfaced online, along with screenshots of allegedly troubling chats. Smriti, removing her Haldi and Mehndi photos from Instagram, added to the confusion. More recently, it was reported that the two would now get married on December 7. Smriti’s brother, Shravan Mandhana, has now reacted to these rumors.

Smriti Mandhana’s brother rubbishes rumors of Smriti and Palaash getting married on December 7
Social media was abuzz this Tuesday with reports claiming that Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palaash Muchhal were all set to get married on December 7, after their much-hyped November 23 wedding was postponed. Claims spread like wildfire, thereby restarting speculation about the couple’s relationship.
Amidst the chatter, Shravan Mandhana, brother of Smriti, categorically denied reports. He went on to say that he knew nothing about a new wedding date and stated that the wedding was still postponed and that no fresh schedule had been decided as of now. Shravan says,
I have no idea about these rumors. As of now, it (the wedding) is still postponed.
Why was Smriti Mandhana and Palaash Muchhal’s wedding postponed?
The ceremony that was originally supposed to take place in Sangli was stalled when Smriti’s father, Shrinivas Mandhana, suffered a medical emergency on Tuesday morning and had to be admitted to the hospital. Palaash, too, was subsequently hospitalized due to stress following the incident and was discharged later after medical tests.
Following the postponement, social media speculation spiraled. Claims of alleged cheating emerged, with screenshots being shared by the mystery girl. Amidst this, reports emerged that Smriti had deleted pictures and posts related to her engagement, which only fanned the flames of gossip. Two choreographers associated with the wedding preparations were also drawn into the vortex of rumors but strenuously denied everything.
Both families have appealed for privacy. Palaash’s mother is even going to the extent of calling the rumors insensitive and unfounded, affirming that the decision had only health implications. Smriti or Palaash has not yet responded to these claims and has maintained silence in this storm of speculations.
