The ongoing COVID-pandemic has resulted in an increase in viewership of films and shows available on different online distribution platforms, as well as allowing content creators to branch out and try new things. Considering the success of reality programmes in India, Sony LIV has now launched a desi-version of the American show Shark Tank India for the Indian audience.
And as we all know how famous Shark Tank India has become in such a short period and how it has influenced the business landscape in India. The show’s popularity has soared since it has become a viral sensation, particularly on social media platforms. We were introduced to numerous lesser-known entrepreneurs as well as business jargon that some of us were unaware of while watching Shark Tank India.

But despite getting so much popularity and positive reviews, Shark Tank India has been involved in a few scandals since its inception and even so many days after it concluded.
While the judges strive to be optimistic and encouraging in their critiques, it is Ashneer Grover, co-founder of BharatPe, who is continuously surrounded by conflicts, whether it is regarding his personal and professional life or his comments from the programme.
Sippline Founder Rohit Warrier trolls Ashneer Grover over his remarks
One of the most popular pitches was Sippline Drinking Shields, founded by Rohit Warrier. He began his presentation by explaining how glasses may get dusty and lipstick can get stuck on the curved corners. He added that when we go to workplace parties or cat parties and buy drinks, the edges of the glasses are sometimes not wiped. By creating a product under his startup, Rohit was able to solve this problem.

In his recent video, Sippline founder Rohit Warrier, who featured on the inaugural season of Shark Tank India, takes a shot at Ashneer Grover. One of the Shark Tank India judges, Ashneer Grover, insulted Rohit for his product. He stated when Rohit appeared and exhibited his goods,
“Bhai kya kar raha hai yaar tu? Mazak hai kya? Aap kya bohot zyada peete ho kya? Matlab ye idea apke dimaag mein aya bhi kaise ki glass ko mask pehnauga?”
He even dubbed his product wahiyat. Let me explain that Rohit’s Sippline product is an oral hygiene mask that may be worn over the rim of spectacles. While referring to the product, Ashneer stated,
“Mere ismein bohot strong views hain… Ye jo product hai na matlab isse wahiyat product maine zindagi mein na dekha hai na mai dekhna chahta hu… mujhe bhagwan utha le… iske baad main kuch nahi dekhna chahta life mein.”
In the latest video, Rohit makes fun of Ahneer while promoting his goods
In the video, Rohit can be heard saying,
“Abhi bas ek hi question ‘Glass ganda hai toh kya karun (There’s only one question now, ‘What to do if the glass is dirty)?'”
He then added,
“Hey Bhagwan, utha le mujhe (Oh God, kill me).”
Sharing that it’s a joke, Rohit said,
“Nahi nahi bhai mazak kar raha tha (I was just joking).”

Warrier had already posted many reels using the show’s intercuts to demonstrate the popularity of his product. Another video shows Sippline gaining a lot of popularity on the internet, which is exactly the reverse of what Ashneer projected for the product.

While some people appeared to sympathise with Rohit following his humiliation on the show in the comments area of his Instagram post, others advised him to wake up. As one user put it,
“You are looking to create a problem for your solution. Seriously this is something which is not a big problem at the moment.”
While another user commented,
“Persist and you will make it.”
Earlier, Ashneer has discussed the negative aspects of celebrity that come with being on Shark Tank India. Ashneer said in a talk with comedian Rohan Joshi that he stays up at 3 a.m. to erase hateful comments.
What do you think about this? Is this kind of trolling justified?
