AR Rahman reply troll tamil

Legendary musician AR Rahman has been making a lot of news off-lately, however, for all the controversial reasons. Recently, a video of him went viral on the internet, where he could be seen telling his wife to speak in Tamil and not in Hindi at an awards show.

AR Rahman stopped his wife from speaking Hindi

Rahman was honoured at the recent Vikatan Cinema awards, where he invited his wife Saira Banu up on stage and asked her to say a few words and accept the trophy alongside him.

Saira became emotional as AR Rahman thanked her on the stage and readily walked towards the stage when he asked if she’d like to join him. She hugged her husband, who offered the trophy to her and ivited her to say a few words, but just as she was about to speak, AR Rahman stopped her from speaking in Hindi and asked her to speak in Tamil. He said:

“Please speak in Tamil, not Hindi.”

Following this, Saira looked uncomfortable but she smiled and said:

“Sorry, I can’t speak fluently in Tamil. So, please excuse me. I am super happy and excited because his voice is my favourite. I fell in love with his voice. That’s all I can say.”

However, as the video garnered attention from all corners, AR Rahman found himself at the receiving end of criticism and trolling as many fans were left disappointed with the musician.

Rahman gave a savage reply to Kasturi for mocking his wife

While AR Rahman was receiving criticism from the fans, popular actress Kasturi Shankar took to her Twitter and mocked Saira for not knowing the Tamil language. While sharing the clip of the aforementioned incident, Kasturi wrote:

“What? AR Rahman’s wife doesn’t know Tamil? What is her mother tongue? What language would they speak at home? #arrrahman.”

AR Rahman was quick to notice the Tweet and come up with a reply to it. In his reply, Rahman to Kasturi’s tweet about his wife. He wrote: ‘Kadhalukku mariyadhai (sic)”, which roughly translates to:

Respect for love🌺😍

For the unversed, Rahman tied the knots with Saira Banu in the year 1995 and their marriage was arranged by his mother. Today, they are proud parents to three children – Khatija, Raheema and Ameen.
