This Sholay scene was copied from Hollywood film

But do you know some of the scenes from the iconic movie that we all have grown up watching are inspired (or copied) from different Hollywood movies?

Yes, you read that right. Recently, actor Adil Hussain and a few other people pointed out a few uncanny similarities between different scenes of these Hollywood movies and Sholay.

Well, recently, Adil Hussain took to his official Twitter handle and shared a scene from Sergio Leonne’s iconic 1975 Spaghetti Western Once Upon A Time in the West. The scene looked almost the same like the one where Gabbar (Amjad Khan) brutally shoots down Thakur’s (Sanjeev Kumar) family one by one.

In an interview, he also revealed that he was left shocked after watching the clip. He revealed:

Sharing the clip, Adil wrote,

“Ha ha… Who would have thought that portions of one of the most watched/ Admired films in India will be a copy of this film below… Probably you already knew that!? .. But didn’t..”

He further revealed that Sholay was a movie that inspired him to become an actor that he is today. He said:

“It was one film that we saw when we were young, I think I was in the sixth standard when it came. Later, I don’t know how many times I saw the film,”

“I know all the lines of all the characters. In fact, as a stand-up comedian those days in Assam, I used to do the Gabbar Singh’s lines, Bachchan’s lines and Dharmendra’s lines. It’s something which is so close to my heart and I felt shocked and hurt almost,”
