For the uninitiated, Shah Rukh Khan and Irrfan Khan shared a very friendly and amicable bond. In the 2009 comedy-drama film Billu, two of Bollywood’s most renowned actors shared the screen. Along with them, the movie starred other prominent names such as Lara Dutta, Om Puri, Rasika Joshi, and more.

Directed by Priyadarshan, the story followed the journey of a struggling barber, portrayed by Irrfan, who resides in an Indian village. His life takes a turn for the better when the villagers find out that a famous actor, with whom he had an association in the past, is coming to the town.

In April 2020, the Indian film industry suffered a significant loss with the passing of Irrfan Khan. The celebrated actor had been fighting a colon infection for a long time. Irrfan’s versatility as an actor, his unique approach to his roles, and his magnetic screen presence have made him a prominent name in both Bollywood and Hollywood.

His realistic portrayal of characters, along with his masterful dialogue delivery, had earned him critical acclaim and a massive fan following. Some of his most notable films include Life of Pi, The Lunchbox, Inferno, Piku, Angrezi Medium, and The Namesake, among others.

At present, Shah Rukh Khan is occupied with the filming of Atlee’s upcoming directorial venture titled “Jawan” in the company of Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara. As of now, the project has moved into its post-production phase and is slated to hit theaters on June 2, 2023. The movie will be released in multiple languages such as Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.

Along with “Jawan,”  the actor will also appear in Rajkumar Hirani’s forthcoming film “Dunki,” where he will share screen space with Taapsee Pannu and Boman Irani.
