Fungus in vande bharat yoghurt

Food plays a crucial role in maintaining our overall well-being. While many foods offer health benefits, contamination with fungus can pose serious health risks. Now, we all know that Indian Railways serves food to its passengers who ask for it. However, in rare cases, they come in contaminated form. A similar incident happened with a man who shared a snippet of Fungus-filled Yoghurt served to him in the popular Vande Bharat Express.

Vande Bharat Express meal service once again left a passenger in shock as they served Fungus-filled Yoghurt

Once again, the meal service aboard the Vande Bharat Express has sparked controversy. To say that it left the passenger dismayed would be a sheer understatement. Well, not long ago, Harshad Topkar, a traveler on the route from Dehradun to Anand Vihar in the executive class, was met with an unpleasant surprise as he discovered a greenish layer, presumably fungus, contaminating the yogurt served as part of his meal.

For passengers who opt for the executive class, such an experience tarnishes the expectations they hold for the reputed Vande Bharat Express. So was the case with Harshad Topkar.

The post also caught the attention of Rail Seva and they were quick to respond

Rail Seva and Northern Railway quickly took notice of Mr. Topkar’s post. IRCTC responded promptly to the incident and apologized to Mr. Topkar for his unpleasant experience. They assured him that the matter was addressed immediately by the onboard supervisor, who replaced the yogurt. IRCTC also mentioned that the yogurt pack was not expired, but they would investigate the issue further with the manufacturer to prevent such incidents in the future. Their comment read as we quote,

“Sir, our sincere apology for the inconvenience caused. The matter was immediately attended by the onboard supervisor who replaced the curd immediately. Further, the curd pack was within the expiry date. The issue is being raised with the manufacturer.”

The Rail Seva also asked him for more details about his journey. In response, Rail Seva asked for information, while Northern Railway tagged Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) for attention.

Back in February as well Vande Bharat Express faced another food contamination incident

In February, a passenger on the Vande Bharat Express from Rani Kamlapati to Jabalpur Junction was shocked to find a dead cockroach in the meal provided by Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC).

It is a testament that it’s not the first time such a disturbing incident has happened on this train. This highlights the need for the Vande Bharat Express to pay closer attention to the food they serve, ensuring passengers’ well-being and satisfaction during their journeys.
