R. Madhavan Reply To Fan After Being Trolled For Saying ‘Only 25 Lakh Indians Are on Twitter’

R. Madhavan is a recognized actor in the south movies industry as well as Bollywood. The talented actor has four Filmfare awards under his cap. He is quite popular for his guy next door chocolate boy image and his infectious smile.

The 52-year-old has worked in Tamil movies including  Alaipayuthey, Minnale, Kannathil Muthamittal, Aayutha Ezhuthu, Run, Anbe Sivam, etc. He was also featured in several Bollywood flicks including Rang De Basanti, Guru, 3 Idiots, and Tanu Weds Manu to name a few.

Madhavan will be seen recently in his upcoming film Rocketry: The Nambi Effect for which he has been on a promotional spree. The actor’s upcoming film’s trailer was displayed in Times Square in New York and its premiere got a standing ovation at the prestigious 75th Cannes Film Festival. The film marks Madhavan’s directorial debut.

Rocketry: The Nambi Effect is an Indian biographical drama based on the life of scientist Nambi Narayanan. Nambi who was a former scientist and aerospace engineer of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) was accused of espionage in 1994. The film covers his journey to prove his innocence.

The movie is set to have a worldwide release on July 1, this year. As Madhavan’s film release date in the theatres is approaching the actor is all hyped up and was slammed by a netizen for misquoting the number of Twitter users in India. The actor didn’t back out from responding to the same.

To slam the actor for saying that only 25 Lacs people in India are on Twitter, a video was shared by a social media user to slam Madhavan. The now-deleted tweet read,

“Madhavansplaining: This @ActorMadhavan is spewing non stop nonsense to promote his film and it is only getting more and more laughable with every passing day. Isn’t there any other way to promote his film than this?”

Our beloved Farhan of 3 Idiots was quick to respond to the tweet where he wrote,

“Easy bro.. you are a sportsman.. I am exhausted sleep deprived .so said less than 25lakhs instead of 250 lakhs .. but the point was it still less that 1.7% of the population – which was my point .. why so much venom bro.. not good for your sport .. .”

Soon after the actor responded, his fans flocked into the comments section to cheer his subtle response.

While one fan wrote, “Great answer”, another one wrote, “Classy reply, Maddy. Yeesh. It’s after all a number, and the point still stands.”

Earlier on Monday, the Information and Broadcasting Ministry organized a special screening of the actor’s anticipated project Rocketry: The Nambi Effect at the Siri Fort Auditorium in New Delhi. Former IG CBI PM Nair, former CBI director DR Karthikeyan, senior government officials, stakeholders from the film industry, and the Rocketry team were some people who attended the screening.
