Arjun Tendulkar, the son of the legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, made his IPL debut on 16th April 2023 for the team Mumbai Indians. Arjun went wicketless in his maiden IPL game at the Wankhede Stadium against the Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday. On Tuesday, during the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, he conceded 14 runs in his first two overs. He was then handed the responsibility to bowl in the 20th over of the match in which SRH required 20 runs to win. Arjun kept his cool and bowled good lines throughout the last over earning his debut wicket in IPL.

Arjun Tendulkar’s stunning first-ever wicket in the Indian Premier League on Tuesday, April 18, against the Sunrisers Hyderabad. He dismissed Bhuvneshwar Kumar, batter for Sunrisers Hyderabad (2 runs from 5 balls) on the second last ball of the 20th over. It was the fifth match for the Mumbai Indians on Tuesday in the ongoing season of the cricket league and Arjun’s second game. He definitely made it memorable by taking his first IPL wicket.
After Arjun took his first-ever IPL wicket, he celebrated the memorable moment with his teammates, his father Sachin, and his sister Sara Tendulkar. They expressed their immense happiness over the 23-year-old’s achievement.

The popular Bollywood actress and the co-owner of the Punjab Kings, Preity Zinta, after the conclusion of the SRH-MI match, posted a tweet to congratulate Arjun on his maiden IPL wicket. Her tweet has gone viral on social media. She also mentioned in her tweet that the young cricketer was mocked for nepotism, but he proved that he had earned his spot.

Arjun by taking his maiden IPL wicket in Hyderabad on Tuesday, became the first member of the Tendulkar family to have a wicket in the IPL. His father and the former MI skipper, Sachin Tendulkar, never managed to take any wickets in the league during his association with the team as a player.
