The arrival of Saudia Airlines on Tuesday signaled the beginning of international flight operations at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport Terminal 2. Terminal 2 is planned to hold up to 25 million passengers a year once it opens in November 2022. From September 12, Terminal 1 no longer serves any international flights to or from Bengaluru; instead, only local flights are currently handled by this terminal.

Since then, the eye-catching images of the new terminal at Kempegowda International Airport have been trending on social media. The terminal’s interior aesthetics, featuring bamboo-latticework finishes and hanging gardens, have captured the public’s imagination.

In keeping with its “Terminal in a Garden” theme, Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL), the organization in charge of managing the airport, unveiled the special features, which included bells and veils, a zero-loss plant policy, an automatic irrigation system, bamboo finishes, and a multi-modal transportation hub.

These features have upgraded and transformed this airport into a spectacle. Notably, during a recent visit, actor R Madhavan, who was just named chairman of the Film and Television Institute of India, praised the airport’s infrastructure and emphasized its exceptional qualities.

Actor R Madhavan praised Bengaluru Airport’s infrastructure.

He enthusiastically praised the airport’s amazing renovation and compared it to an “exotic place.” Madhavan was in awe of the amazing architecture, especially the hanging plants that, to his astonishment, were real and meticulously watered from the ceiling.

The actor praised the effort and inventiveness put into the terminal’s construction. He also stressed that the design of the building was centered on sustainability.

However, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s acknowledgment of the video in an Instagram story may have had the greatest impact. As far as operational arrangements go, Terminal 1 will act as a busy hub for domestic flights run by airlines like IndiGo, Akasa Air, Alliance Air, and SpiceJet. In contrast, Terminal 2 will only serve foreign flights, along with domestic flights provided by AirAsia, Air India, Star Air, and Vistara, according to a statement from Bangalore International Airport Ltd.
