change.org petition for Sushant Rajput

The whole nation is finding it difficult to believe that the talented actor Sushant Singh Rajput has left all of us and we won’t be able to see him anymore. He was just a 34 years old youngster who wanted to fulfill his dreams. The actor who could have ruled Bollywood took the decision of ending his life. This horrific incident took place on Sunday and on Monday, Sushant’s last rites were carried out in Mumbai. The Kedarnath actor was suffering from depression and was visibly disturbed from few days, as per the domestic help.

The debate on nepotism once again started after Sushant’s demise. There were some reports according to which the Kai Po Che star was banned by some big production houses as well as producers such as Karan Johar, Aditya Chopra, Salman Khan, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, etc. Some clips of old videos are also going viral in which A-listers or the star kids are seen making fun of Sushant in a talk show or at other events.

“We the people want to collectively raise our voice against the practice of nepotism in the Indian cinema (“Bollywood”), which has increasingly become a brutal reality. Bollywood is not an oligarchy (ruled by the few) but is a democracy. In this petition, we ask popular streaming companies such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Hot star to immediately stop promoting movies generated by the above mentioned media houses. These are not movies, these are platforms to launch children of famous movie stars. These are not movies, there is evidence that nepotism is running rampant in the industry.”

Jay Shree has also taken to Facebook and asked her friends and followers to sign the petition and get 2 Million signatures so that such type of incidents are not repeated again.

The protest is not limited to social media only as the people of Patna from where Sushant belonged have burnt effigies of Karan Johar and Salman Khan. They have also taken a pledge that they would not let their movies release in the city.
