Parthiv Patel height matter

Body shaming has been prevalent in various parts of the world. It is something that can decrease someone’s self-esteem and give rise to insecurities. This time the target has been the former India keeper-batter Parthiv Patel who has now turned into a commentator. This came after Parthiv criticized Australia and RCB all-rounder Glenn Maxwell for his below-par performances in the Indian Premier League 2024 season. Patel had criticized Maxwell after his poor performance in the tournament, against GT on Saturday, May 5 at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.

Parthiv Patel comment on Glen Maxwell’s IPL performance

In a chase of 148, the all-rounder was dismissed for just 4 (3). This instigated Patel to call him the most ‘overrated player’ in the history of IPL on his X handle. However, Parthiv’s remark on Maxwell didn’t go well with the RCB fan base. A section of RCB fans began trolling the former wicketkeeper-batter for his comment.

Glenn Maxwell hasn’t been able to contribute significantly with the bat for the
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the ongoing IPL season. Parthiv Patel shared a poll on X, questioning his followers if Maxwell was a proven campaigner for Australia or an IPL great. 73 percent of fans voted that the player has been more successful at the international level. Parthiv wrote:

My point exactly. He hasn’t translated his international form and
reputation to the #IPL. Given the opportunities he’s had across
franchisees, his performance has been very underwhelming.”

The 39-year-old Patel had to face massive trolling all over social media for his ‘short height’

An RCB fan tried to troll Parthiv for his height on the microblogging platform X (formerly Twitter). He wrote that the opinions of those who are shorter than 5 feet 2 inches don’t matter.

Opinions of people below 5″2 never matters.

The Gujarat-born cricketer gave a savage reply to shut the trolls

However, Parthiv was quick to respond to his trolls and gave an appropriate response to people shaming his height. To prove his point, Patel made a sarcastic remark and posted a photograph of him with the IPL trophy while playing for MI and pointed at RCB’s empty trophy cabinet in IPL. In his IPL career, Patel has won three trophies once in 2010 with CSK and twice with MI in 2015 and 2017.

Patel took to X and wrote,

i am 5”3… that matters?

Here is how netizens reacted to his post
