The Amazon Prime iconic show, Mirzapur is all set to come back with a brand new season. One of the best series to hit the OTT platforms, the show debuted in 2018 and fans are eagerly waiting for the third season of the series – Mirzapur 3. The Amazon Prime show has a huge fanbase and when season 2 was released amidst the pandemic, the viewership of the show reached a new benchmark, and it broke several records.
The fans were awestruck by the stunning performance of the talented actors in the series. Most of them became household names, but the most famous actor who gained tremendous exposure and recognition from the series is none other than our very own, Pankaj Tripathi.

The character Pankaj plays is the terrifying Akhandanand Tripathi aka Kaleen Bhaiya. He is a patriarch who belongs to a family of gangsters. The entire village he owns is always at his service. Pankaj Tripathi gave his best in every single episode to do justice to the character he plays. The character’s journey and development through the two seasons are remarkable. In Mirzapur 3, Tripathi Ji will be accompanied by Shweta Tripathi, Ali Fazal, and Rasika Dugal.
In an exclusive interview with Koimoi, Kaleen Bhaiya decided to discuss the new season of his show. Here is everything you need to know about the conversation,
In the exclusive discussion when the actor was asked about the upcoming Mirzapur season 3, here is what Pankaj Tripathi said,
“Uske bare mein? Tayar hojao bohot khatarnak script aane wali hai. Abhi puri sunne wala hoon to mujhe kuch idea nhi hai. Mera costume trial kal parso mein hoga ye bata sakta hoon. (About Mirzapur 3? Brave yourselves a ‘khatarnak’ script is on it’s way. I am yet to listen to it completely, so don’t have an idea but I am doing my costume trials in the coming days. Can tell you that much).”
When asked about where he thinks the show is headed, he revealed that he is very excited about it. He further added,
“Me bohot excited hoon and Guru (Gurmeet Singh) mere pasandita director hai. Us show ne mujhe badhi pehchan di hai. Me ab kahi Kaleen bhaiya hoon and South me mujhe Kaleen Bhai bolte hai. Kaha jaega woh to pata nahi, writers decide karenge. Me to shooting par dhyan deta hoon. Na writing pr na post production pr. Mera kaam utna hi hai na, mera kaam bichme ata hai. Meri duty utni hi hai. (I am very excited, I love Guru, the director of the show. Mirzapur gave me a lot of fame. I am Kaleen Bhaiya for everyone and people even call me Kaleen Bhai in the South. As for where the show goes, it is with the writers. I only focus on acting, not on writing or post production. That’s my duty).”
Pankaj Tripathi’s breakthrough role was in the Gangs of Wasseypur film series. He has received critical acclaim for his performances in Bollywood movies including Masaan, Fukrey, Bareilly Ki Barfi, Mimi, Newton, and many more.
