Palash’s mother Amita opens up on the stress-filled moment that affected her son’s health

Sharing a deeply emotional insight, Palash Muchhal’s mother, Amita, opened up about the unexpected health scare her son faced during the wedding chaos. When Smriti’s father began feeling unwell, Palash was overwhelmed with emotion. According to Amita, he cried uncontrollably for hours, unable to handle the shock – an emotional spiral that soon affected his own health. He had to be kept in the hospital for nearly four hours before being discharged and brought home to recover.

The stress didn’t stop there. With back-to-back concerts, travel, and wedding preparations piling up, Palash’s exhaustion intensified. He was later shifted to SVR Hospital in Goregaon, Mumbai, where doctors put him on IV drips, conducted ECGs, and ran additional tests. Thankfully, everything came back normal, but the stress levels were alarmingly high. Amita shared that he is now resting in Mumbai, with his sister Palak rushing back from Sangli to be by his side.

As Amita recalled,

“Since haldi was done, we didn’t let him go outside. Rote rote ek dum tabiyat kharab ho gai. 4 ghante hospital mein rakhna pada. IV drip chadhi, ECG hua aur doosre tests hoye. Sab normal aaye but stress bahut hai… He is feeling better and resting now, but stress is still there. (Crying continuously made his condition suddenly worsen. He had to be kept in the hospital for four hours. He was put on an IV drip, underwent an ECG and other tests. Everything came back normal, but the stress level is very high.)”

Palash’s deep bond with Smriti’s father becomes the reason behind wedding postponement

The unexpected medical emergency in the Mandhana family didn’t just stall the celebrations – it brought forward the remarkable depth of Palash Muchhal’s bond with Smriti’s father. As revealed by Palash’s mother, Amita, his attachment to Srinivas Mandhana was far stronger than anyone imagined. So when Srinivas was suddenly hospitalised, Palash’s reaction was immediate and deeply emotional.

She said, “Palash ko uncle se bahut zyada attachment hai… Smriti se zyada yeh dono close hain. Jab unko ho gaya toh Smriti se phele Palash ne decision liya ke usko abhi phere nahi karne jab tak uncle theek nahi ho jaate. (Palash is extremely attached to uncle… in fact, more than Smriti. When he fell ill, Palash decided—even before Smriti—that he would not proceed with the wedding rituals until uncle gets better.)”

It was this bond that moved Palash to make the toughest call of the day.

In her conversation with the Hindustan Times, Palash Muchhal’s mother also opened up about the sudden health scare faced by Smriti Mandhana’s father, Srinivas. She recounted how radiant and joyful he had been just a day earlier—dancing enthusiastically at the sangeet, sharing Instagram Stories, and fully enjoying the pre-wedding celebrations. But the mood shifted unexpectedly when the family began discussing the baarat. Srinivas felt a sudden discomfort, stayed quiet at first, and only when the pain intensified did he alert the others, prompting the family to call an ambulance.

“Ek din phele unhone bahut dance kiya. Woh bahut zyada khush the… Instagram pe Stories dal rahe the. Uske baad jab hum baraat ki planning kar rahe the, unko takleef hui. Phele toh unhone bataya nahi but jab badhne lagi, ambulance bulai. (A day earlier he danced a lot. He was extremely happy… He was even posting Stories on Instagram. Later, while we were planning the baarat, he felt discomfort. He didn’t say anything at first, but when it worsened, we called an ambulance.)”

Meanwhile, Dr. Naman Shah, Director of Sarvhit Hospital, also shared a medical update, revealing that Srinivas showed symptoms of a heart attack around 11:30 a.m. after experiencing left-sided chest pain. While his echocardiogram showed no new complications, doctors recommended continuous ECG monitoring and possibly angiography if required. His blood pressure remained slightly elevated, likely due to the physical and emotional stress of an intense wedding week.
