Om Puri wife on KK

Krishnakumar Kunnath, popularly known as KK, a Bollywood singer, died on May 31 in Kolkata, only hours after playing at Gurudas College’s Nazrul Mancha auditorium. Following his performance, he was hurried to the hospital and proclaimed “brought dead.” His death came as a complete surprise to his fans, family, and close friends.

Many people paid tribute to him, however his death sparked a flurry of suspicion, with many sources claiming that he died as a result of the side event organisers’ carelessness and the venue’s lack of sufficient air conditioning and ventilation.

On top of these suspicions, police also filed a case of unnatural death in relation to his death which further heated up these rumours. Nandita Puri, the ex-wife of late actor Om Puri, has unleashed her anger and made a surprising charge.

Nandita Puri turned to Facebook to criticize Kolkata’s facilities for staging live concerts, accusing the city of murdering the singer. She wrote,

“Shame on West Bengal. Kolkata killed KK and the govt. is covering up with a state farewell for their faulty Nazrul Manch; with a crowd of 7k for a 2.5k capacity, failed air conditioning; the singer perspiring profusely complained 4 times to no avail. No paramedics. No first aid. Crucial moments lost. A CBI enquiry is a must and Bollywood should boycott performing in Bengal till then.”

Soon, after this, people went furious to see her unusual post as she directly hits out at Kolkata and the venue. Many users support her statement and state that concert managers should be behind bars. As one person on her post commented,

“It’s appalling. Why no right arrangements, why more crowd n air conditioning not working properly. Is money important than life of a human being??????”

While another one commented,

“The organisers should be behind bars. Complicity to Homicide.”

But on the other hand, her post made some people angry by saying badmouthed Kolkata and West Bengal. As one user wrote,

“Shame on u for this baseless words! It’s unfortunate but how dare u to blame bengal this way?”

While another wrote,

“Very shameful and inhuman incident. But let not Bengal be victimized for the neglect on behalf of a single organization. The blame should be on the organisers. They should be brought to justice.”

Upon viewing these negative remarks on her statement, Nandita soon realizes her mistake and added another paragraph in her post, which said,

“EDIT – I understand there has been a confusion, I did not mean to blame or demean West Bengal or Kolkata or the people of Kolkata or West Bengal. My intention was to blame the government and administration for their mismanagement, especially the organisers of the concert at Nazrul Manch.”

Furthermore, one more latest development provides further fuel to the rumour market.

According to a doctor who did the autopsy on Thursday, KK had many cardiac blockages and may have been rescued if cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) had been provided sooner.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee paid her homage to KK’s lifeless remains at Kolkata’s Rabindra Sadan. A gun salute was fired in his honour. KK’s lifeless remains were carried to Mumbai for his death rites. In Mumbai, KK’s burial is going place, with family and friends paying their respects to the singer. At 1 p.m. today, KK was cremated in the Versova Hindu Cemetery.
