“A lot of people are very clueless when it comes to the count of investments because what they don’t realise is when we start doing our due diligence, there are multiple things that… there’s literally a lack of integrity on the part of founders. There are many founders who have ghosted me. There are many founders who, when we do the due diligence, the numbers they quoted at the tank, they are completely off, not just marginally but substantially off.”
The Executive Director – India Business, Emcure Pharmaceuticals further talked about the integrity issues on the pitchers’ part
She further elaborated on the reasons behind the Sharks’ decisions not to accept many deals on Shark Tank India. She explained that while the audience often questions why certain deals don’t materialize, they may not realize that integrity issues play a significant role in this outcome. She clarified,
“People often see us making offers on the show, but what they don’t understand is that integrity issues often arise during the due diligence process,”
Namita emphasized the importance of viewers understanding this dynamic, highlighting the disparity between what is presented during the televised pitch and the reality uncovered during thorough due diligence.

“I think this is one thing that whoever is following Shark Tank must be aware of, that there is a margin between what’s revealed at the tank vs what really comes out in the due diligence.”
