Well, the tale goes back to August 17, when Deepak parked his car in the Multi-Level Car Parking (MLCP) facility of Terminal 3, thinking it would be safe until his return, after all, he parked his car at the IGI airport. However, this was not the case when he returned.
So, when he came back on August 26, he was met with a whopping parking bill that included Rs 4,889.83 in parking fees. That was not it, it also had an additional Rs 880.17 as the GST charge. The shock of the steep amount left Deepak in disbelief, and he quickly took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to share his experience with others.
The parking bill was not the only problem Deepak faced that day
The parking bill was not the only problem Deepak faced that day. To his dismay, when he reached his car, he found that it had suffered significant damage. The gate lock was broken, and there were multiple scratches all over the vehicle, indicating that it had not been adequately protected while in the parking area. This added to his frustration, as he expected the parking facility to ensure the safety of vehicles parked there for an extended period.
Deepak’s troubles did not end there. Despite his best efforts to report the damage and lodge a complaint, he found no support from the parking staff. They had already collected the hefty parking fee and seemed uninterested in addressing his concerns. Their unhelpful attitude left Deepak feeling helpless and angry.

Price of car parking parking at the IGI airport
The parking rates at Terminal 3 of Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport are structured to increase rapidly over time. For the first 30 minutes, the charge is Rs 120, followed by Rs 170 for the next 30 minutes, and Rs 100 per hour for the subsequent five hours. If a vehicle is parked for more than five hours, the rate jumps to Rs 600 per 24-hour period.

This tiered pricing system can quickly result in a hefty parking bill, especially for those who park for several days, as seen in Deepak Gosai’s case, where his bill reached Rs 5,770. Regardless, the damage to the car should have never happened.
