Cases of adultery seem to be rising rapidly—or perhaps they were always there, hidden behind closed doors. What’s different today is that the betrayed partner is choosing to step forward, exposing the truth rather than suffering in silence. One such incident from Amritsar, Punjab, where a man married for 15 years caught his wife with a friend in a hotel, has shaken many. To say this tale has gone viral would be a sheer understatement.
Amritsar man catches wife with a friend in hotel using GPS tracker
What started as a 15-year-long marriage slowly unraveled into a story marked by doubt and emotional pain. Ravi Gulati from Amritsar shared that this was not the first time his trust had been shaken. Looking back, he recalled,

“I got married to Himani on 25 April 2010. In 2018, my wife was also found with someone in a hotel.”
Despite the shock, Ravi chose to forgive her. He informed her parents, who stepped in and apologised, and Ravi decided to move forward for the sake of their young children. He said,
“I forgave her because we had small children and I felt mistakes can happen.”
Yet, the sense of unease never completely faded. Ravi admitted that for more than a year, he felt something was not right.
“I had been suspicious for more than a year.”
By writing so, he revealed why he eventually installed a GPS tracker on his wife’s Activa. He clarified that he did not confront her right away, as he wanted to be sure before taking any step.
On the day of the incident, his worst fears came true. His wife left home between 3 and 3:30 in the afternoon and soon stopped responding to his calls. Ravi said,
“I called her 15–20 times, but she did not answer.”
Alarmed, he checked the GPS location, closed his shop, and followed the signal.
“I came to this hotel and caught my wife there.”
By saying so, he claimed he found her with a friend.

“This has been going on for years,” corroborated husband’s father
Ravi Gulati’s father, Parvez Gulati, claimed that the issue did not begin recently but has been troubling the family for many years. According to him, his daughter-in-law had been caught in a similar situation five to seven years ago as well. At that time, both families came together to resolve the matter calmly.
She apologised, discussions were held, and the issue was settled without conflict. Parvez said the family genuinely believed the chapter had closed, especially after a reconciliation meeting was even held at an MLA’s residence.

However, he said history has repeated itself. This time, she was again found at a hotel and, according to Parvez, openly stated that she no longer wished to live with Ravi. He added that she wants to return to her parents’ home, making her decision clear to the family. The incident, he said, came as a deep shock after years of attempts to keep the marriage intact.

Adding another troubling detail, Parvez alleged that the man seen with her had been introduced to the family as her brother. He claimed the man frequently visited their home and spent time with the family, which is why no one ever doubted him. Parvez also said they have repeatedly tried to contact her parents to sit down and talk things through, but so far, they have received no response despite several requests for a meeting.
Journalist and Filmmaker Deepika Narayan Bhardwaj’s post sharing the incident and the video clip of Ravi has triggered massive online debate
Journalist and filmmaker Deepika Narayan Bhardwaj shared the video on X and made a sharp remark, writing,
“Now she will file false dowry, DV, 125 case on not just husband but his entire family… because she is abla naari & isolated incidence of adultery doesn’t take away her alimony right.”
Her comment reflected concerns over the alleged misuse of marital laws.

Indian law system is biased, it’s only on paper everyone is equal before law but women will always be benefitted by courts. If women are not given maintenance, alimony, etc. for these kind of cheaters and false 498a cases things will come to some change

He is saying that he caught her in 2018 doing adultery & told her parents about it and he took her back. What else did he expect after that? I know social dynamics in Indian society don’t make divorce easy for men but never take back a cheater or who approaches police/courts.

Freedom of equality must apply both sides irrespective of gender else rules are highly misused like otherwise..

This had become such a common norm nowadays! Govt should definately consider re-evaluating the laws now. HIGH TIME!!!

Adultery is not limited to one gender. Cases involving both men and women have repeatedly gone viral, showing that betrayal can come from either side, and no act of infidelity is ever justified. Such incidents are deeply disheartening. What are your thoughts on this case? Do share in the comments below.
