Is Asur Season 3 Happening? Here’s What The Makers Have To Say

The Jio Cinema presenter – Asur 2 is currently one of the most popular series in India. For all the right reasons? Indeed for all the right reasons. This thriller piece that stars Arshad Warsi, Barun Sobti, and Ridhi Dogra among others is ruling everyone’s heart. To say that the plot, the star cast, and the direction everything is getting a big round of applause from both the viewers and the critic would be a sheer understatement.

Fans are dying to know if the makers will come up with another season of Asur, meaning Asur 3. Creator Gaurav Shukla, director Oni Sen, and writer Abhijeet Khuman said something that you should not miss out on.

Asur creator Gaurav Shukla shared his thoughts on season 3 of Asur

The Creator of Asur, Gaurav Shukla recently had a fun interview session with Pinkvilla. In the 41-minute-long interview, he was asked by Himesh Mankad about his plans on creating a new season for Asur. A question to whose answer every Asur fan is crazily seeking. To this, Gaurav Shukla replied as we quote,

“We haven’t thought of anything and it is a long and soul-crushing process to come up with a plot. And it took a lot of time. When you are trying to outdo something well received, that has worked for the audience, you have to be very very sure until you are convinced that it is better than the previous one. If I have a better idea which can outdo season 2, I will go for it. If I don’t think it is doing justice to the legacy, I will not creatively persuade.”

Gaurav further added by saying he wants to be absolutely convinced if he wants to make Asur season 3 or not. He said as we quote,

“We don’t want to make it until we are absolutely convinced. The audiences have a way of interpretation and we cannot predict it but inside us, the three of us should be compelled and feel like we can invest our three years.”

In the same interview, director Oni Sen said that they’ll only make another Asur season 3 if it is really worth it

Adding to what creator Gaurav Shukla shared, the director of this powerful show Oni Sen said as we quote,

“It has to be worth it and all of us should be aroused by it like – damn, it’s a shame not to make it. Then we’ll be good to make it.”

Gaurav Shukla said there are indeed some ideas for Asur season 3 but…

Making a sequel for a hit show is indeed very challenging. Interviewer Himesh Mankad asked the makers if they had any idea for Asur 3 or not. To this, Gaurav Shukla replied he indeed has some idea but he does not feel compelled or aroused enough yet.

Director Oni further said how glad he is that Asur is being loved so much but creating a sequel is always very dodgy. He further added that they do not have the compulsion that just because the show is so successful they have to make another season.

Shukla concluded by saying I was sure of making a season 2 for Asur. However, this time we have given a sort of conclusion to the show. But as he also mentioned, Never say Never!
