Mahua Moitra Responds To Viral Photos Of Her Raising Toast With Shashi Tharoor & Smoking A Cigar

Mahua Moitra, an Indian politician associated with the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC), has become a prominent figure in parliament. From her fiery speeches in parliament to her subtle posts on social media, she has become a phenomenon among new-generation voters.

Moitra entered the political arena in earnest when she joined the AITC, led by Mamata Banerjee. Mahua Moitra, a TMC leader and MP, became involved in controversy after photos of her dining at a restaurant with Shashi Tharoor and others went viral. The images sparked social media trolls, suggesting a romantic connection between Moitra and Tharoor.

Mahua Moitra gives a befitting reply to trolls after some of her images went viral

In response, Moitra slammed the BJP’s troll army and urged them to disclose the whole set of photos and identify all guests. In a tweet, she ridiculed the BJP, stating her preference for a green dress over a white blouse. On X, formerly known as Twitter, Mahua Moitra wrote,

“Most amused to see some personal photos of me being circulated on social media by @BJP4India ‘s troll sena. I like green dress better on me than white blouse. And why bother cropping – show rest of the folks at dinner as well. Bengal’s women live a life. Not a lie.”

Apart from this, another image of Mahua Moitra smoking a cigar and drinking champagne was shared online. Moitra denied smoking, attributing it to her allergy, and dismissed the circulating images as an attempt to malign her personal life. On this, she tweeted,
