11 ‘Lock Upp’ Contestants And The Whopping Amount They Earn Per Week

Even if you don’t like reality shows, you’ve probably heard of the reality programme Lock Upp. The programme has just the right amount of awkwardness and drama. Most people watch this reality show because they wanted to know what is happening in this programme and why is it making so much news.

Lock Upp: Badass Jail, Atyaachari Khel! is the inaugural season of an Indian reality show television series. Kangana Ranaut hosted the show, which launched on ALTBalaji and MX Player on February 27, 2022, and is backed by Ekta Kapoor.

Nineteen controversial contestants known as inmates fought it out in jail to gain every basic requirement and win the hearts of the host Kangana Ranaut and the audience by completing tasks and exhibiting their personalities. Bigg Boss fame Karan Kundrra is the jailor in this show.  After 72 days, the contestant who received the most votes will win this show.

The programme received 15 million views within 48 hours of its debut on March 2, 2022, according to reports. Within 19 days of its premiere on March 19, 2022, the programme had surpassed 100 million views, making it one of the most-watched reality series on an OTT platform. The programme exceeded 200 million views on March 31, 2022.

According to reports, the social media influencer, who is known for her music videos and content creation, is paid roughly 3-4 lakh per week for the programme. She’s also the most well-paid of the contestants.

2. Saisha Shinde

Saisha Shinde, formerly known as Swapnil Shinde is a famous fashion designer and a trans woman who returned to the competition as a wildcard entry, is said to be paid Rs. 1 lakh every week.

3. Poonam Pandey

Poonam Pandey, an actor and model, gets roughly 3 lakhs per week for her presence on Lock Upp. She’s also one of the show’s highest-paid participants.

4. Babita Phogat

Babita Phogat is an Indian wrestler who has won several prestigious awards, including a gold medal in the 2014 Commonwealth Games. She was allegedly paid 3 lakhs each week as a competitor on the show.

5. Payal Rohatgi

On the show, an actor and reality TV performer is paid a weekly salary of 3 lakhs. Before her stint on Lock Upp, she was a participant on Bigg Boss in 2018.

6. Sara Khan

Sara Khan was said to be earning between 2.5 and 3 lakhs each week as a participant in the show. She’s also appeared in Hindi daily operas and reality shows such as Bigg Boss Season 4.

7. Karanvir Bohra

The actor, who has appeared in TV dramas such as Kasautii Zindagii Kay and Shararat, earns Rs 2 lakh per week for his involvement in the reality show Lock Upp.

8. Nisha Rawal

Nisha Rawal is a television actress and model who has been in series such as Main Lakshmi Tere Aangan Ki. On the reality programme, the actor was paid between 1.75 and 2 lakhs every week.

9. Tehseen Poonawalla

Tehseen Poonawalla, a venture capitalist, political analyst, and the CEO of the Poonawalla Foundation, was also a contender. For the same, he used to collect roughly Rs.1.25–1.5 lakhs every week.

10. Munawar Faruqui

Munawar Faruqui receives a weekly salary of roughly 3-3.5 lakhs for the show. He’s a comedian who’s also shown to be one of the show’s most capable contestants.

11. Karan Kundrra

Karan Kundrra, also known as the “jailor” on the reality show, is said to charge 3 lakh every episode. He may not make a permanent appearance on the programme, according to reports, due to other commitments linked to the film schedule.
