Since its release, The Kashmir Files has sparked several opinions. For the first time in Indian cinema, a film has sparked such widespread interest despite a lack of well-known performers or significant branding. For its spectacular performances and heart-wrenching story, the content-driven film has gotten a lot of acclaims.
But, regardless of the fact that it is not a “feel-good” or “interesting and enjoyable” movie, why are people rushing to theatres all over the country to see it?

The issue, as well as the premise that this plot, which presents occurrences from the viewpoint of Kashmiri Pandits, has never been discussed so freely before, are the reasons for this. The film’s creators were unconcerned about political correctness while telling the story, and this is exactly why it was a hit.
The Kashmir Files is based on the actual narrative of the mass slaughter of Kashmiri Hindus by radical Islamists in the Kashmir valley in 1990, as well as the subsequent forced displacement of Kashmiri Hindus.
It also highlights the fact of the valley’s dreadful military record, as the title says. As shown in the film, many Kashmiri Pandit victims were slaughtered, and many more were forced to flee their homes and transfer to other regions of India.
The Kashmir Files was a great hit at the box office. The film has touched the audience and has received a lot of praise, resulting in a lot of money at the box office.

The movie has recently crossed the Rs 200 crore mark at the box office. The movie was not only a monetary triumph, but it was also well-received by critics. While The Kashmir Files does not appear to be slowing down, many have suggested that the film’s revenues be donated.
Comedian Kunal Kamra has gotten on board and expressed similar sentiments on Twitter
On the other hand, he was viciously mocked on the microblogging site. Kunal captioned his post,
“Desh ke liye jaan dene ke liye ready hai par desh ke logo ko paise dene ke liye nahi.”

Soon after this, Vivek Agnihotri is seen replying to a query about giving The Kashmir Files revenue in a video shared by Kunal Kamra on Twitter. When asked if he intended to give the proceeds during a press conference, Vivek responds,
“Kamai hogi toh baat karenge.”
Several Twitter users chastised Kunal for attempting to ridicule Vivek Agnihotri in response to his remark.
