Krishnakumar Kunnath popularly known as KK, who has given multiple hits in the last three decades has passed away at the age of 53. The singer performed at Nazrul Mancha, Kolkata on Tuesday and later went to hotel where he fell ill. After he was brought to the hospital he was declared dead.
Krishnakumar Kunnath, is famous for his songs like Yaaron and Pal which became quite hit among the 90s kids. These songs were a must play during any school and college farewell events. Later he sang some of Bollywood biggest hits such as Tadap Tadap (Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam), Aankhon Mein Teri (Om Shanti Om), Dil Ibaadat (Tum Mile), Labon Ko (Bhool Bhulaiyaa). etc.

KK was born in Delhi and released his first album , Pal in 1999. He was famous for his electric show. KK Instagram page was also sharing updates from his Kolkata concert where he last performed.
Minister Arup Biswas said about KK’s death, “Singer Anupam Roy called me up and said he is hearing something bad from the hospital. Then I contacted the hospital. They said he was brought dead. Then I rushed to the hospital.”

In the viral video, KK is seen changing the lyrics of his famous song Pal to make it relatable to his Kolkata audience as he sings,
“Pal, ye hain Kolkata ke pal. chal, aa mere sang chal, soche kya, chhoti si zindagi. (This moment is the moment of Kolkata. Come, let’s walk with me. Why ponder. The life is too short.)”
