She pointed out how the uproar over the case reflected a bias, highlighting the double standards in societal reactions to wrongdoing based on gender. In the video, Moose began by mimicking the exaggerated outrage that had surrounded what she referred to as a “recent divorce case.” Using a sarcastic tone, she said,
“Log keh rahe the oh my god, aurate dekha dekha, aurate dekha kese. (People were saying, ‘Oh my god, look at women, look at what women did, how could women do this?’)”
She mentioned that it is rare for a woman to commit an appalling act, yet when it happened, it became monumental news. According to Moose, such incidents were blown out of proportion because it is believed that only men are capable of despicable behavior. Moose then shifted the focus, accusing men of consistently taking advantage of women without facing similar scrutiny. She argued,
“Tum din mein chatiso baar auraton ka fayeda uthate ho… Kaatil-e-aam, rape-e-aam, sab kuch karte ho lagatar. Tumhara toh normal hi ho gaya hai. (You take advantage of women 360 times a day… Public murders, mass rapes, everything you do continuously. For you, it has become normal.)”
Moose further questioned why society treats “evil women” as an abnormality while men’s wrongdoing as something that is a norm and okay. She also emphasized that women live in the same world as men, and they, too, are capable of greed and bad behavior. Her boldest remark came at the end when she declared,
“I support women’s rights and wrongs.”
To say that her remarks have raised eyebrows, and ignited conversations across social media platforms would be a sheer understatement.
