Ever since his show, Hell’s Kitchen began airing in the US in 2005, Gordon Ramsay has become a celebrity chef with a reputation for spouting equal parts snark and acid. He has since then continued that legacy on Twitter, much to the enjoyment of his fans. And now, one aspiring Twitter user from India knew exactly how to get all attention.
Gordon is well known for roasting people on Twitter as they seek his opinion on their culinary creations. Sometimes his observations are harsh but hilarious as well and followers have come to expect that kind of sarcastic and discouraging treatment from him, but this time his critique has upset almost an entire country – India.

When a Twitter user from Mumbai, India, who goes by the name Rameez, tweeted Ramsay a picture of the South Indian delicacy “Medu Vada Sambhar with nariyal chutney”, a traditional dish made from black lentils and deep fried to look like a doughnut, and asked him to rate his food.
Below is the tweet by Rameez:
However, just like how he insults most of the twitter users do to invite hilarious reactions from the celebrity chef, this time as well, the chef came up with a hilarious tweet but this time it turned out to be unsavory.
Insulting the popular South Indian dish, the Ramsay wrote:
I didn’t know you can tweet from prison https://t.co/rxrPPBonff

Obviously his reply didn’t go down well with his Indian followers, who slammed him left and right. The dig was possibly made at the utensil on which the dish was served but the dig rubbed the Indian fans in the wrong way. Angry reactions surfaced in no time.
