PM Modi Giorgia Meloni

After the declaration of Lok Sabha Elections 2024 on June 4, it is clear that the BJP-led NDA (National Democratic Alliance) is set to form its third successive government at the Centre. The prediction of exit polls had given a sweeping victory to the NDA but the contest turned out to be much tighter than the forecasts as the opposition INDIA bloc put up a strong performance with Congress.

The BJP won or was ahead in 240 seats to appear as the single largest party in the 543-member Lok Sabha. The BJP candidates had contested in the name of Modi. With the support of its allies, the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) was on the path to reach the 272-majority mark.
