Know About The Woman Who Is With Wing Commander Abhinandan At Attari-Wagah Border

Pakistan made India wait for almost the whole day before releasing Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman. The captured IAF pilot was to be released during the day but was only allowed to cross over at 9:20PM. Almost 60 hours after being arrested Wing Commander was handed over to India at Attari border, Amritsar. He was received by his parents and senior IAF officers at Attari-Wagah border. Dressed in a blue blazer and grey trousers, he was accompanied to the border by Group Captain Joy Thomas Kurien, India’s air attache in Islamabad, and by a director of the Pakistan Foreign Office.

A huge crowd had gathered at Attari-Wagah border to welcome the fighter pilot who has made India proud with his courage and grace under extreme pressure. From there he was soon taken to airport and flown in an IAF Embraer jet to New Delhi.

Whole nation was watching Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman walking back through the gates of Attari-Wagah border after he was freed by Pakistan government on Friday. During this a lady was accompanying the Wing Commander and a question arises in everybody’s mind that who was that lady. Many on social media started sharing that she is wife of Wing Commander Abhinandan which also went viral but the fact is not true.

A newspaper even published that she is Wing Commander’s wife

The lady is Dr Fariha Bugti, Director India in Pakistan’s Foreign Office. Dr Fariha Bugti, is FSP (equivalent to India’s IFS) officer and presently is in charge of handling India affairs at Pakistan’s Foreign office. She is one of the most distinguished officers in Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Dr Bugti is the only woman officer working in the Foreign Ministry of Pakistan who belongs to Balochistan. She joined FSP in 2005. She has always been lauded for her communication skills and for being a thorough professional.

According to a report of India TV, She is also one of the main Pak officials handling the case of Kulbhushan Jadhav, who is in Pak captivity. Jadhav has been accused of being an Indian spy. She was also present during the meeting between Jadhav, his mother and wife in Islamabad last year.
