Meet Eksha Kerung, 23 Year-Old Policewoman Turned Model And The New Face Of Maybelline With Suhana Khan

One such outstanding person is Eksha Hungma Subba, the lady is a Sikkim police, boxer, supermodel, and biker. Eksha Kerung is an inspiration for millions of women.

1. Eksha Kerung comes from a small village called Rumbuk in Sikkim’s Soreng subdivision. She joined the police force at a very young age.

2. Eksha’s parents are Aitaraj and Sukrani Subba. She is the eldest sibling in the family and this brave lady has been the sole breadwinner.

3. Eksha Subba age is 21 years as of 2022. She broke all boundaries of a stereotypical society and became a police officer by profession who is also a supermodel and a boxer.

Eksha joined the police force when she was 19 while pursuing her graduation. She landed a job with the Sikkim Police Force. In the interview, she revealed that the job required her to undergo 14 months of disciplinary training before she was transferred to the State Reserve Line.

4. Eksha Kerung participated reality TV show MTV Supermodel of the Year Season 2 and was one of the top 9 contestants.

She proved that it’s never too late to chase your dreams. Her story inspired many to recognize their true passion. She has always wanted to compete for MTV Supermodel of the Year since the first time Manila Pradhan won the title in 2019. She got encouragement and support from her peers and department elders.

Eksha’s love for bikes is also because of her father. When her father was teaching his brother how to ride a bike, she was also standing there. Her father encouraged her to learn it too, and since then, bike riding has become one of her passions.

When Malaika Arora was judging the show ‘MTV Supermodel of the Year Season 2’ Malaika gave her a standing ovation when Eksha introduced herself. She said, “such women need to be saluted”.

9. In the beauty contest, Eksha used her police training to her advantage

Eksha’s police training helped her face all the challenges related to core and physical strength in the show. Reported by Sikkim Express, as told to TGIF, she revealed,

“I have to say that, being from a defense background where I had to train for around 14 months before being recruited by Sikkim Police, some of the challenges were very easy for me. I wasn’t scared of heights, and I could do the tasks that involved physical strength easily. I was confident when the tasks involved core strengths.”

10. After displaying her modeling skills on an MTV show, Eksha wanted to compete in Asia’s Next Top Model

She had aspirations to model on an international platform while working for the Sikkim Police Department.

11. She is proud to be a daughter of the country

Speaking to the media, Eksha once shared,

“I used to think, ‘Eksha, what are you doing?’ but now I feel very lucky. Me as a cop and me as a model. People love me so much”

Anand Mahindra, who is pretty active on Twitter praised the remarkable talent of Eksha Hungma Subba. Mahindra presented her with the title of Wonder Woman. He wrote,

14. Renowned cosmetic brand Maybelline announced in 2023 that Eksha Kerung will be the new face of Maybelline

Eksha Kerung who is a model is going to be the brand ambassador of Maybelline India.

15. Joining her as Maybelline ambassadors are Shahrukh Khan’s daughter Suhana Khan, badminton player PV Sindhu, and singer Ananya Birla.
