With the rising automation and digitalization, the integration of Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the tech industries is inevitable. Over the past few years, this has resulted in a hiring freeze and growing layoffs in the tech companies. Left with not much option the fresh engineering graduates are left with no alternative but to accept whatever offer they get without complaining.
Companies like Cognizant are apparently hiring freshers by offering peanuts. The 30-year-old Indian IT giant is making headlines for the package they are offering in their current off-campus fresher’s recruitment drive.

Tech companies hiring is a good sign, while taking the recent layoffs into context.
But 2.52 LPA is seriously concerning.
10 years ago, the average package was around 3 LPA. Instead of the emoluments growing, we have lower payouts now.

Too high it should have been 0.52 LPA

Say four people are renting a 2bhk house on shared basis.
Per head it would be 5k.Then food expenses daily will be around 250 rupees with tight diet. ₹7500 net.
