Student of The Year 2 fame actress Ananya Pandey recently trended on social media but for all wrong reasons. The daughter of actor Chunky Pandey recently created a tongue-in-cheek moment for herself at the newcomers roundtable hosted by film critic Rajeev Masand where she came up with her own definition of struggle while speaking on nepotism and landed into equating struggle in Bollywood with not appearing on Koffee with Karan.
Ananya addressed the issues of nepotism and various struggles the outsiders go through as they step into Bollywood. Putting her views on nepotism, Ananya said she owned up to it and considered herself lucky enough to be Chunky Pandey’s daughter because this made grabbing opportunities easier for her.

She further continued by stating
“I have always wanted to be an actor. Just because my dad has been an actor, I will never say no to an opportunity to act. My dad has never been in a Dharma film, he never went on Koffee With Karan. So it’s not easy as people say. Everyone has their own journey and their own struggle.”
But the above explanation given by her didn’t go down well on social media. As soon as Ananya Pandey equated the struggle in Bollywood to that of not appearing on Karan Johar’s chat show, the twitterati opened their treasure trove of memes. One user wrote “Ananya ab underground hone ka samay aa gya h#”. Another user wrote, ‘Heart cries for her. So much struggle, Dad didn’t even go to Koffee with Karan, Woww’.
Gully Boy actor Siddhant Chaturvedi also agreed to Ananya Pandey by mentioning that yes everyone has their own struggle and went onto add, the difference is
“Jahan hmare sapne poore hote hain, wahin inka struggle shuru hota hai”
(their struggle begins where our dreams are fulfilled). The viewers were very impressed with Siddhant’s conclusion on Ananya’s statement on nepotism and hailed him as ‘sher’.

Recently in an interview, Chunky Pandey was asked whether he really struggled a lot in a futile manner to be on the show, to which he answered
“I like coffee a lot and would go on the show whenever Karan calls me.”
On being asked if he is upset with Karan for not inviting him to the show, to which Chunky said
“I am not upset at all but rather happy because Karan Johar has cast my daughter in his film”.
