The world of celebrity news often moves at lightning speed, especially when love stories take an unexpected turn. That’s exactly what happened after news broke that the highly anticipated wedding of Indian women’s cricket vice-captain Smriti Mandhana and filmmaker Palash Muchhal was postponed.

While family members and organizers cited a medical emergency as the reason, the timing fueled massive speculation across social media.

The controversy truly ignited when fans noticed that Smriti had deleted crucial posts—including her engagement and proposal photos—from her Instagram account. Soon after, an old “flirty chat” involving music composer Palash Muchhal and an alleged choreographer surfaced online. This leak, reportedly shared by a woman named Mary D’Costa, quickly led to claims that Palash had allegedly cheated on Smriti.

Netizens in search of the alleged coreographer

This leak triggered a widespread, intense online “witch hunt” to identify the alleged choreographer

Because the choreography for Smriti and Palash’s sangeet ceremony was handled by Bosco–Caesar’s team, the focus quickly turned to the professionals involved.

Anonymous posts circulating on Reddit and Instagram began pointing fingers at two choreographers from the Bosco group: Gulnaaz Khan and her friend, Nandika Dwivedi.

The speculation gained traction when a user on X (formerly Twitter) specifically named Gulnaaz Khan as the female choreographer seen in sangeet videos and noted that Palash had seemingly unfollowed her.

Gulnaaz’s social media comments were instantly flooded with questions like, “Is it you?”

Setting the Record Straight

The human cost of unverified claims is significant. Not only did Gulnaaz and Nandika have to address shocking personal allegations, but another woman connected to the initial leak also felt compelled to clarify her role.

Mary D’Costa, the woman who reportedly leaked the “flirty chat,” made a separate post to clarify: “I want to clarify, I am not the choreographer, and I am not the person he cheated with,” noting that she didn’t want people assuming the wrong things.
