1. President: Droupadi Murmu gets paid Rs 5 Lakh

Droupadi Murmu was sworn in as the 15th President of India on 25th July 2022. The President’s salary is allocated under ‘The President’s Achievement and Pension Act of 1951’. She went down in history as the first tribal President of India.

The President’s monthly salary was increased from Rs 1.5 Lakh to Rs 5 Lakh in 2016, hence she gets paid Rs 5 Lakh per month and 50% of that amount as pension after her tenure ends.

Bullet and shock-proof cars, elite army bodyguards, transportation, medical care, and a residence at the 340-room Rashtrapati Bhavan, and other benefits are provided, all at government expense.

2. Vice President: Jagdeep Dhankhar gets paid Rs 4 Lakh

Jagdeep Dhankar took the oath as the 14th Vice President of India on 11th August 2022. His current salary is Rs 4 Lakh per month and when his tenure ends, he will also receive 50% of his salary as a pension.

He is also entitled to free housing, personal security guards, free medical care, and free air and train travel. As a Vice President, he will reside at the Uprashtrapati Bhavan. 6. Members of the Parliament get paid Rs 1 Lakh
