A concurrent love for Indian culture appears to be spreading over the entire world as a result of the expanding popularity of Indian street cuisine among foreigners.
There is no flavour that our diverse selection of Indian street cuisine can’t have. Be it salty, fatty, spicy, or sweet, we have every kind of street food. And let’s face it, with the current chilly weather, it’s even harder to resist the tantalising temptations that are lining up in every nook and crevice of your city and luring you to feast. We are fortunate to have a tonne of possibilities.

From momos to noodles, pakodas, and samosas, we have borrowed several foreign dishes from other cultures and made them our own by adding our own “desi tadka” to them.
But nowadays, we have seen a new trend that tells us that practically everything is flavoured with cheese, mayonnaise, or Chinese sauces, compromising the flavour of the item. Whether they are momos or Vada Pav, everything is now being accompanied by mayonnaise.
The normalisation of the use of such items means they are not only used more now but also have gained so much popularity. When we look at food vlogging videos related to India Street food on Instagram and YouTube, literally, most of them have shown lots of cheese without giving any context on why it is getting added.
While many people like this, lots of people, on the other hand, don’t like this trend at all. Many people have expressed their displeasure over this on different social media platforms. And among many reactions, one tweet has gone viral on Twitter and has become the talk of the town. Lots of people are reacting to his tweet. So let’s find out what he wrote:

Desi Twitterati claims cheese and mayonnaise ruined Indian street food culture
A man named Balsher Singh Sidhu said on Twitter that the addition of mayonnaise and grated cheese has utterly destroyed the Indian street food culture. He wrote,
“(Unpopular?) opinion: Indian street food scene is being ruined by excessive mayo and shredded cheese. They just destroy the actual flavours. Indian food is good enough already without being drowned in mayo/cheese.”

Definitely not an unpopular opinion and you forgot to add schezwan sauce to the list of so called fusion dishes…

NOT unpopular by a mile. I HATE when someone drops even a pinch of either of those things; totally ruins the original stuff.
