Bengaluru Woman request for flatmate

Hunting for a place to stay at a new location is grueling. When you hunt for a rented place, there are several terms and conditions that landlords put forward which makes it even more difficult. Renting a place in a city like Bengaluru which is an IT hub, where there is no dearth of working individuals looking for a place to stay, is more challenging.

There are only a handful of individuals who are lucky enough to secure one. The renting crisis is increasing day by day and it is taking people to great lengths to meet the crisis.

The woman took to social media and shared a screenshot of the weird exchange

An ‘X’ user, Akanksha Mishra posted a screenshot of a message she received from a total stranger. In the message, the stranger offered that they look for a place together. Akanksha was quick to decline the proposal and clearly explained that she wasn’t comfortable sharing a flat with a male. To her response, the man replied with an ‘Ok.’

Even after that out of his desperation, the man came forward and wrote,

“This is not the correct platform to ask. If you’re ok and single, we can share place for life (upon mutual vibe/respect).”

Now, this was an unexpected move that can be viewed as a desperate act of a house-hunter.

However, the screenshot shared by the woman and the caption sum up the situation, in her Twitter post she wrote,

“Perks of house-hunting in Bangalore, you get creeps free but not the house. Desperate house-hunters in Bangalore believing in “make them an offer they can’t refuse” too seriously.”

Accommodation woes in Bengaluru have led to apps offering loans to cover the hefty security deposits demanded by some property owners. The rents are hiked up too making it troublesome to look for a place but sending such a request to a woman is not justifiable.
