Whether you agree with it or not, women in this world undoubtedly suffer many obstacles. The inequality gap is not limited to professional settings or corporate boardrooms; it permeates all aspects of daily life, including the home. This inequity manifests in various forms, one of which is the higher cost women incur for hygiene and self-care products.
The idea of the “pink tax,” or the higher price women pay for particular goods and services, is not new. However, a woman’s recent article on X has focused attention on this problem by giving a specific illustration of how bad this inequality may be. Her thorough assertion emphasizes how, over time, women end up spending Rs 1 lakh more than men for the same products and services.

According to her bio, X user @epicnephrin_e is a medical student pursuing an MBBS. She recently used the well-known social networking site to list all the ways that women wind up spending extra for necessities. Even worse, females wind up spending about one lakh rupees more than men do for the “same goods and services.”
In her post, she listed several goods and services along with the prices that men and women pay for them, saying that being a woman is more costly. In her post, she wrote,
Being a woman is so expensive. Period hygiene products cost around Rs. 150 a month(average). A good bra costs around Rs. 400-500,and you need a good supportive bra to workout/run/sports which costs anywhere around Rs. 800-1500.
The medical student went on to say that women often spend 7% more on goods that are advertised to men. She added,

On an average women pay 7% more on similar products to men, but it can be much much more. Specifically, women get charged on average: 50% more on income protection, 29% more on razor blades, 16% more for body wash, etc. Most pink tax is found in personal care items, and clothing.
Sadly, it has been discovered that the annoying pink tax is greater for women on apparel and personal care products. She concluded,
On average women pay around $1300(Rs. 1 Lakh +) more than men for the same goods and services.
