The selection committee of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has certain things to think about in light of the Asia Cup 2022. The selectors only have a little time before disclosing their choices, whether it be due to concerns with certain athletes’ health and injuries or others’ forms.
The current Asia Cup 2022 has come to a very dismal conclusion for the Indian cricket squad, and now all eyes are on the impending T20 World Cup 2022.

The Indian squad had a humiliating experience last year after losing at the Super 12 stage. That’s why the Indian cricket team, led by Rohit Sharma in this year’s competition, will be striving for a better result this time.
Fans and experts have started to reveal their choices for the highlight event even though the squad is not expected to be formally chosen by the selection committee until September 16.
Ashish Nehra, one of the most senior and experienced players who has played for an Indian squad and more recently has worked closely with a few current players, has also released the 15-man squad he plans to select for the upcoming T20 World Cup, which is going to be held in Australia.
Ashish Nehra’s squad is full of surprises
KL Rahul‘s position has come under fire because of his lacklustre performance after making a comeback from injury. Rahul’s strike rate has also drawn criticism. However, Nehra continues to back Rahul in his position as an opener. When prompted to explain his decision, he responded,
“We still have a long way to go as far as the T20 World Cup is concerned, so I think we will see a lot from KL Rahul in the next six game.”
The former pacer continued by selecting Virat Kohli as his choice for the third position and SKY or Suryakumar Yadav at positions 4 or 5. He stated,
“SKY should be in the eleven because you then have an alternative to Rishabh Pant. You can swap the two—on 4 or 5.”
Following Suryakumar Yadav, Ashish Nehra chose Hardik Pandya as his number five player and Ravindra Jadeja as his number six player.
Ashish Nehra identified Arshdeep Singh, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Harshal Patel, and Jasprit Bumrah as his pacers after mentioning the value of spinners in the bowling department.

Despite the fact that Ravichandran Ashwin hasn’t played much T20 International cricket for India since the T20 World Cup last year, Nehra emphasised the player’s significance to the Indian side. He said,
“Not only Chahal and Jadeja are important, even Ravi Ashwin is also important. Even if he plays, he can make an impact.”

Ashish Nehra didn’t choose Shami and Deepak Chahar
Mohammed Shami was also mentioned by Nehra, even though he hasn’t played a T20I for India yet this year. Shami wasn’t selected for Nehra’s 15-man team. Talking about him, Nehra said,
“One name, however, comes in my mind and that is Mohammed Shami. Being a Test specialist, he hasn’t attracted that much focus from the selectors. And I am not saying this because I saw him up and close in Gujarat Titans”
Deepak Chahar was also left out of the team chosen by Nehra.
