Akshay Kumar FINALLY Speaks On Being Called ‘Modi Bhakt’

Akshay Kumar reveals how he feels about “Modi Bhakt.”

Addressing persistent labeling as a ‘Modi bhakt’ (supporter), Akshay Kumar recently opened up in an interview with Times Now. He asserted that his cinematic ventures span diverse subjects, and he remains apolitical.

In conversations regarding his movies, including Airlift and Mission Raniganj, which are set in the Congress era, Kumar drew attention to how his works were only given the attention they needed dependent on the narrative that was being promoted. To underscore the complex dynamics underlying his public image, he underlined that such claims only come to light when they are advantageous for particular viewpoints. Akshay Kumar said,

It’s true. Some people accuse me of promoting Swachh Bharat through Toilet: Ek Prem Katha; I also made Padman. But nobody notices that I made Airlift, which was set during the Congress era. Even Mission Raniganj is set during the Congress era. But nobody is pointing that out. They only say these things when it’s convenient for their narrative.

When Akshay Kumar talked about interviewing PM Modi.

Before the 2019 general elections, actor Akshay Kumar discussed “interviewing” Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He also justified the concept by calling it obvious. Kumar refuted claims that he produces political movies intentionally, saying,

Anybody would’ve grabbed the opportunity had they been offered it.

Additionally, he rejected social media narratives that positioned Shah Rukh Khan and other stars on one side of the political divide and him on the other. Akshay Kumar said,

The best thing to do is to laugh it off and move on.

Speaking to India Today, Akshay claimed that many had an issue when he inquired about PM Modi’s preference for mangoes. He said,

I wanted to know the human side of him; I felt like asking him. I wanted to know why he wears a watch upside-down. I wanted to ask him how much money he has in the bank. I’m not going to ask him about policies.

Akshay asserted that he received no instructions from the Prime Minister’s Office on the acceptable types of questions. He claimed that he had total freedom and posed the hypothetical question,

Do you think they would have allowed me to ask about mangoes?

He added,

I didn’t even have a paper in my hand. In fact, I even told him a joke.
