Richa Chadha, a critically regarded performer, sparked a heated debate when she attempted to ridicule a senior Army official. She is being accused of denigrating the Army and the soldiers who lost their lives in 2020 fighting the Chinese troops by hundreds of Twitter users.
It all began when Lt. Gen. Upendra Dwivedi, commander of the Northern Army, declared earlier this week that the Indian Army will obey any directives issued by the Central government. He was responding to a query about Defence Minister Rajnath Singh’s suggestion that India will, if necessary, take control of some of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

On October 27, Singh had said the thing. In his words, Pakistan was committing crimes against humanity upon people in PoK and had betrayed India in the Kashmir dispute. He further asserted that India should claim back Gilgit and Baltistan, two regions in PoK.
“We r fully prepared to take back PoK from Pakistan. We r waiting the orders from the govt. We will complete the operation quickly. Before that if Pakistan is violating ceasefire, the answer will be different, even they can not imagine.”

However, Richa Chadha took this into a different dimension
Quoting Lt. Gen. Upendra Dwivedi’s video on Twitter, she wrote,
“Galwan says hi…”
She was apparently making reference to the opposition’s claim that China had invaded parts of Indian territory in the Galwan valley in eastern Ladakh. It was seen as a disrespect to the slain servicemen by many Twitter users.

Soon after this, she was heavily criticized for “mocking” the Indian Army and downplaying the sacrifice made by the jawans during the 2020 India-China conflict in Galwan. After that, she made a formal apology and deleted her tweet.
Referring to the incident which the whole of India still never forgotten, she courted huge controversy on social media platforms. For tweeting this, she was heavily trolled, not only by commoners but also by many celebrities.
Akshay Kumar who recently expressed his thoughts on what she said
Akshay Kumar responded by saying he was “hurt” by her comments. Taking to Twitter, he wrote,

Soon after this, Akshay Kumar’s comment becomes a trending topic on the social media platform. While people labeled him as an attention seeker, others are applauding him for taking a stand against the member of his own fraternity.
While it is true that Akshay Kumar currently holds Canadian citizenship, with this strong message to Richa, he again proves that he is still Indian by heart. Many people criticized him and his followers by saying bringing up his citizenship issue, however, we cannot deny that India currently needs his words, at a time when many other celebrities chose to maintain silence.
On the work front, Richa Chadha is currently busy filming Fukrey 3 and Abhi Toh Party Shuru Hui Hai. On the other hand, Akshay Kumar recently release Ram Setu and is currently busy filming Selfiee, OMG 2 – Oh My God! 2, Capsule Gill, and an untitled remake of Soorarai Pottru.
